Meringe Torte

3 egg whites (1/3-1/2 c)

¼ tsp cream of tartar
1 c sugar
  1. Heat oven to 275
  2. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until frothy
  3. Gradually beat in sugar a little at a time
  4. Beat until very stiff and glossy
  5. Spread on heavy brown paper in 8 - 9” rounds
  6. Bake 60 minutes
  7. Turn oven off and let cool before removing
  8. Top with fruit and cream
